Why I need to take my son on a plane

First I want to say my husband has never been on a Plane, like never! He has never owned a passport and doesn’t really see the problem with this.  However Mark Warner Holidays are choosing 6 lucky families to be their blogger ambassadors and we really want to join them.  This would mean D would finally have to get a passport!!!

Anyway back to the point of why I need to take J on a plane, J is plane mad, one of the firsts words he said was plane.  J was delighted to point out and tell us every time a plane went past the front room window, we live relatively near the airport so as you can imagine this got tiring very quickly.  Thankfully he has outgrown this now.  J still like planes and his dad often takes him to the airport viewing park.  In fact, I have been known to jump on a bicycle myself and go along with them.  If I’m honest I don’t see what the big deal is going watching planes take off and land.

My dad works for BAE and he spent many years when I was younger trying to get me interested in what he did, sorry to this day all I know is ‘he has something to do with building planes’.  I remember visiting his work on family day events and just being happy that I got a triangle highlighter pen, seriously that’s all I can remember.  J would have loved to visit his grandad’s work with all the planes but they have since knocked it down and he’s been relocated.

I would like to think J would love the whole airport experience although from an anxiety point of view I would probably dread it.  Since I met D 10 years ago I haven’t been abroad and my passport ran out several years ago.  The last holiday I went on was to Turkey with my mum and Stepdad when I was around 15.  I really want to take J abroad though because I’m sure the positives would outway the negatives.  I couldn’t imagine what he would make of being up in the sky in a plane.  When I was little I used to go to Spain every year with my grandparents and I loved it, even having to suck sweets as we took off to try and help my ears from popping.  All these things create memories which are what childhood is all about.

J will have plenty of memories from holidays here in the UK, however, I want to start making memories with him abroad and becoming a Mark warner ambassador would be a great way to do that.

I really hope that you get to be an ambassador and get J on a plane. I know he would love it, C absolutely loved going on the plane last month to Florida even if the lest half hour was her asking “are we there yet?” and shouting “We are nearly at Disney”
I want to go back and we have only been back a week. Good luck X

My perfect holiday is on the beach but I don’t like it when it’s too warm. Lying on a sun lounger in the shade snoozing whilst listening to the waves coming in and out, bliss!

I hope you do get to take J on a plane, I’m sure he would love it! My J is very lucky and has been on holiday a few times with his grandparents. He loves the planes and I would love to take him on holiday to anywhere we can do lots of swimming together, another thing he loves!

My perfect holiday involved swimming in the sea. I love the sense of freedom it gives you. I love the smells and sounds of a beach and the sea – bliss. The thought of a toddler and newborn on the beach isn’t quite so appealing!

My (nearly!) 3 year old can still remember going on a plane last year and loved the airport and the flight. I hope you get to take J soon.

    Get that passport D!

My perfect holiday would be lounging on a sunbed in the sun with an ice cold drink in one hand and a good book in the other. However, having a 4 and 2yr old means that dream is on hold until they have moved out! Neither of my two have been on a plane, we’re hoping to take them soon now we don’t need as much baby paraphanelia when travelling. I really hope you get to take J on a plane and become an ambassador, I’m sure he’ll have an amazing time! Good luck! X

At the moment our perfect family holiday would probably be Disneyland my 2 year old asks if we can go nearly every day! if I was going along I would pick somewhere like the Maldives, beach, sun, water and relaxation galore!

I really hope that you get chosen to be an Ambassador, that would be a fantastic opportunity and J would get to go on a plane and experience so much of other countries.
My perfect holiday would include a beach, a pool, snorkeling and lots of local history and getting to experience different cultures
    Good luck xx

I love reading your blog and think you would make a great ambassador. I hope you get it as I would love to hear about your adventures and how much J loved his plane trip (and D!)

My perfect holiday is somewhere I can see new things, try new things and also relax 🙂

Wow this sounds like an amazing opportunity! I have a plane lover too, he makes up stories about where the ones he sees in the sky are going to. They’re usually going to the shops to buy bananas so I hope when you do finally get to take J on one it’s to a slightly more exciting destination!

My perfect holiday involves snowy mountains! I have another plane fan here, but the first time she flew, she got that excited that she wore herself out and fell asleep!

I really hope you can be an ambassador, I can just imagine how excited J would be to actually get on a real plane! My ideal holiday would be somewhere like Hawaii.

I bet he would absolutely love being on a plane! My little girl is crazy about planes and she gets so excited every time we go on one. I myself am a bit scared of flying and the impending doom… Ah, but we still travel 🙂 Good luck with your application!

  13. Love Family Holidays says:

I hope you manage to get him on that plane! I must admit I’ve been more nervous of flying in recent years, but I should take heed of the fact that statistically I’m much more likely to get injured travelling to the airport than I am on the plane!

Good luck in your plans to become an Mark Warner ambassador! 😀
